Let Exmouth Reef Fishing Charters Show You This & More
Exmouth township is located on the eastern side of Exmouth Gulf on the North West Cape. With the continental shelf located as close as 5kms offshore its literally a 15 min boat trip from Tantabiddi Boat Ramp and you’re in Blue Water! Ningaloo Reef envelopes the coastline extending from the top of Exmouth Gulf and 300kms all the way down the West Coast. Ningaloo Reef is so extensive it begins within metres of the coast and extends as far out to the continetal shelf. These combined features make Exmouth & the Ningaloo Coast one of the most diverse fisheries in the world.
Exmouth Fishing: Tantabiddi/West Side
The outer edge of the Ningaloo Reef & the vast, shallow water of Exmouth Gulf create protected waters from the open ocean. On west side of Exmouth this creates massive lagoon areas and classic flats. These features of Exmouth and the Ningaloo Coast create a wide range of fishing environments that are home to a bewildering array of prized game, sport fish and reef fish. The flats make ideal fishing grounds for the much sought-after permit, bonefish, GTs and other trevallies, wahoo, and queenies. Reef fishing table delights include all manner of great eating fish such as coral trout, coronation trout, red emperor, rankin cod, gold-band snapper, spangled emperor and bluebone. The deeper water channels offer trawling options for Tuna; Mackerel; Cobia; Wahoo; Dolphin Fish and the much sought after Blue, Black & Striped Marlin. For this reason, Exmouth and the Ningaloo Coast is regarded by many anglers as Australia’s premier fishing destination.. No need for passports or expensive liveaboard charters.
Exmouth Fishing: Exmouth Gulf
Fishing in the Gulf begins with a launch from the sheltered Exmouth Marina or Bundegi Boat Ramp. Its not uncommon to encounter big cobia, mackerel and trevally just outside the marina. Across Exmouth Gulf offers many islands with surrounding Bombies to fish and dive from. If you wish, you can hop off for some lunch or an island hop on one of these many islands including: the Murion Island, Roberts Island, Why & Eva, Brown Island…list goes on. We have fished & explored these islands extensively and know many spots of where to fish & dive around these islands.
Whether you are bottom bouncing, trawling or fly fishing there is plenty of action & diversity to keep you busy.
Exmouth Fishing Charters offer a range of tours including half and full day fishing charters, in addition to being available for private charter.
